Years ago I couldn't stand Bluegrass. I grew up, and still live, where it's most pervasive. But over the years my musical tastes have changed and Bluegrass has crept into my playlists. It started with the Robert Plant/Alison Krauss record "Raising Sand". While that album is Americana, it lead me to explore Alison's back catalog and then to some of the people they mentioned as influences. I'm most partial to instrumental Bluegrass.

I hate country music. I was raised in southeast missouri, and it was pervasive. I was banging my head when everybody else was country line dancing.

But I love bluegrass.

I was listening to Flats and Scruggs in high school, when it was seriously uncool. But my music tastes have always been a little eclectic.

It was a relief when 'O Brother Where Art Thou' made it temporarily cool. :)
